Thirty-six clubs, four pots, eight opponents each — two from every pot, one home and one away, and never a compatriot. Pull the lever and the constraint solver finds a fixture list that satisfies every condition in Article 16 of the competition regulations.

Seeded on club coefficient. The title holder takes the top place in Pot 1.

The conditions

What the solver is required to satisfy

  • Pots

    The 36 clubs sit in four pots of nine, ordered by club coefficient at the start of the season. The title holder is seeded first in Pot 1.

  • Opponents

    Every club draws two opponents from each of the four pots — eight matches, against eight different clubs.

  • Home & away

    Of the two opponents from a given pot, one is played at home and one away. Four home matches, four away.

  • Same association

    Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.

  • Association cap

    No club faces more than two opponents from any single other association.

  • Following a club

    Your club's fixtures are settled the moment its own ball comes out — but they also arrive one at a time whenever another club draws it as an opponent, which is why the tracker fills up long before your turn.

  • Deadlock

    UEFA reserves the right to adjust the conditions to resolve a deadlock. This simulator instead backtracks and re-picks, so a full valid draw is always produced.
