Privacy Policy: Todo-la

In short
- Todo-la has no accounts, no servers, no analytics, no crash reporting and no ads.
- It does not have the Internet permission: the app itself cannot send anything anywhere.
- Your todos, habits and settings are stored on your phone.
- Data leaves your phone only when you send it: a backup file, a feedback email, a copied todo, a "Tell a friend" message, or speech you hand to your phone's speech service.
What Todo-la stores on your phone
- Todos: titles, subtasks, due dates and times, reminders, repeats, priority, colour, favourites and the history of what you marked done.
- Habits: names, colours, targets, reminder times and the time you logged.
- Timers: a running focus timer and its end time.
- Settings: language, colours, filters, widget choices and the other choices you make in Settings.
All of it is kept in the app's private storage, which other apps cannot read.
Where your todos are shown
Todo titles appear in reminder notifications and in the home-screen widgets you add. Depending on your phone's lock-screen settings, notifications can be visible without unlocking it.
When data leaves your phone
Each of these happens only when you choose it.
Backups. Settings → Backup can save your todos, habits, history and settings as a JSON file. You choose where the file goes; if you save it to a cloud folder, that service handles it under its own policy. Importing reads only the file you pick.
Android backup. Todo-la turns Android's cloud backup off, so your data is not part of your Google backup. When you move to a new phone with Android's phone-to-phone transfer, Android may copy the app's data across.
Copying. Copying a todo puts its title on Android's clipboard, where the app you paste into can read it.
Feedback. Send feedback opens your email app with a draft to the address below. The draft names the app version, the Android version and the phone model; you can delete these before sending. No todo, habit or anything you typed is added.
Rating. Todo-la may ask once, through Google Play's own rating prompt, for a rating. Google Play shows the prompt and handles your answer under Google's Privacy Policy; Todo-la does not learn whether or how you rated. Rate Todo-la opens the Play Store page.
Voice input. The microphone button next to a new todo's title opens your phone's speech service (on most phones Google's) and hands back only the words it heard. That service listens and turns the speech into text, and may do so online, under its own privacy policy. Todo-la itself has no microphone permission and never records or keeps audio.
Sharing to Todo-la. When you share text from another app to "Add todo", Todo-la receives only that text and shows it in the new todo. Links in it are kept as text; nothing is opened or fetched.
Tell a friend. Opens your share sheet with a short message and the Play Store link. Nothing from your todos is in it.
Links. The privacy policy link opens this page in your browser. As with any web page, the site that hosts it can see your IP address.
Permissions
- Notifications: for reminders and running timers.
- Exact alarms: so reminders arrive on time.
- Run at startup: to restore reminders after the phone restarts.
- Do Not Disturb access: only if you turn on Do Not Disturb for focus sessions. Todo-la silences notifications for the session and then puts your previous setting back.
Todo-la does not use the Internet, location, contacts, the camera, the microphone or your files outside its own storage, except a backup file you pick yourself. Voice input goes through your phone's speech service, which uses the microphone under its own permission (see above). With Wallpaper colours on, it uses the colour palette Android derives from your wallpaper; it does not read the wallpaper itself.
Deleting your data
- Delete a todo or a habit inside the app to remove it and its history.
- Uninstalling Todo-la, or clearing its storage in Android's settings, removes everything stored on your phone.
- Backup files stay wherever you saved them.
Children
Todo-la is not directed at children, and nothing is collected from anyone, children included.
